STRUCTURE OF THE INSTITUTE

 

Section 1 of the enabling law established the Institute while Section 2-(1) established the Governing Council to administer the Institute. The Registrar is the Chief Executive of the Institute and reports to the Council, while the council reports to the Hon. Minister of Health.

  

The Council consists of the following members, that is
 
a.        President of the Institute, who shall be the Chairman;
b.        Two Vice-Presidents of the Institute;
c.        Ten persons to be elected by the Institute;
d.        A representative each of the following Federal Ministries, that is:
          (i) Human and Health Services
          (ii) Finance, and
          (iii) Internal Affairs; and
e. Past President of the Institute who shall be entitled to serve on the Council for a maximum period of three years from the expiration of his term of office as President of the Institute;

f. Two persons to represent institutions of higher learning in Nigeria offering courses leading to approved qualifications to be appointed by Minister in rotation; and
The Registrar of the Institute who is also the Secretary to Council.

g.The 4th Governing Council of the Institute was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin at a colourful ceremony at Rockview Hotel, Abuja on Friday, 29th January 2010. Members of IPAN 4th Governing Council are as follows:
